AI-readable product specs, policies and documentation
Specs and policies that support bots and AI assistants read correctly
Datasheets, technical specs, policies and handbooks as canonical AI Versions with stable URLs and versions, so internal and external AI assistants answer from the current text.
The problem
Support bots and internal AI assistants answer from whatever copy they indexed. Specs change, old PDFs linger, and limits or thresholds are misquoted.
How The Papers handles it
- Publish each spec or policy as a document; every update is a new version at the same address.
- Agents read /{room}/llms.txt to find the current set and the Markdown of each document.
- Numeric limits, units and conditions are checked against the source before publishing.
Checked against the source
- limits, units and tolerances
- effective dates
- conditions and exceptions
Where to put the link
Your help center, the PDF footer, and your assistant’s system instructions.
Not a converter
The Papers is not a PDF-to-Markdown converter. Conversion is the first step. Before an AI Version is published, its figures, currencies, dates, periods, qualifiers and formulas are checked against the original document, each value keeps a reference to its source page or cell, and anything the source does not settle is put to the document owner instead of guessed.
