Partner Terms
Version
Version 2026-10-19. These Partner Terms supplement the Terms of Service and are an agreement between you and VimoLab, the operator of The Papers.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18, able to enter a contract, and approved by us. We may decline any application. Approval is personal and cannot be transferred. Stripe payouts are available only in countries supported by our Stripe configuration.
Attribution
A customer is attributed to you when they create a new account within the attribution window (currently 90 days) after clicking your referral link; the last partner link clicked before sign-up counts. Existing accounts cannot be attributed. Once attributed, a customer is not reassigned by later clicks. We may correct attribution where it was recorded in error, with a record of the reason.
Commissions
You earn a percentage of eligible revenue: amounts customers you referred actually paid The Papers for eligible paid products, after discounts and excluding taxes, refunds, chargebacks, credits, free items and test or internal payments. Clicks, sign-ups, views, AI reads and free usage never earn commission. There is no lifetime commission promise.
Tier calculation
Your rate depends on eligible revenue from all your referred customers over a rolling window (currently 90 days): Partner 5% from $0, Growth 10% from $100, Pro 15% from $500, Elite 20% from $1,500. Upgrades apply immediately, including to the payment that crosses the threshold. If revenue falls below your tier, it is kept for a grace period (currently 30 days). Commissions already earned are not recalculated. Revenue later refunded or disputed does not count toward qualification.
Holds and payout timing
Each commission is held (currently 30 days) before it becomes available. Available commission is paid monthly (currently around the 15th) through Stripe once it reaches the minimum payout (currently $50); smaller balances carry forward. Payouts require a verified Stripe account in good standing.
Refunds, disputes and reversals
Commission is calculated on net qualified revenue. A fully refunded payment does not qualify; a partially refunded payment qualifies only on the amount The Papers keeps; disputed, charged-back or fraudulent payments do not qualify. The related commission is reversed in proportion. If the commission was already paid, the reversal creates a negative balance that is offset against your future commissions before anything else is paid. We record every reversal with its reason and never alter past payout records. Suspicious activity may delay payouts while it is reviewed.
Self-referral and fraud
You may not earn commission on your own accounts, accounts of your company, accounts you control, pay for or create, or on manufactured, circular or artificially timed payments. We review commissions before they become payable and may hold, reverse or decline commissions and suspend or terminate participation where we reasonably suspect fraud or abuse.
Prohibited promotion
No spam, no misleading claims about The Papers, its pricing or results, no bidding on The Papers brand terms in paid search, no cookie stuffing, forced clicks, incentivised sign-ups or impersonation of The Papers.
Trademarks
You may refer to The Papers by name and link to it. You may not use our logo or brand in a way that suggests you are The Papers or endorsed by it, or register domains or handles containing our marks.
Suspension and termination
Either party may end participation at any time. On termination for breach, unpaid commissions may be forfeited. On other termination, available commission that meets the minimum is paid in the next cycle.
Taxes
You are responsible for all taxes on your commissions. Commissions are paid without withholding unless the law requires otherwise. Stripe may collect tax information from you.
Changes to the program
We may change rates, thresholds, windows and these Terms prospectively with notice by email or on this page. Changes never reduce commissions already earned.
Privacy
You receive only the information needed to understand your earnings (privacy-safe customer labels and amounts), never customers’ names, emails, documents or Data Rooms. Stripe processes your identity and bank details under its own terms; we store only the account status we need.
Governing law
[To be completed by counsel: governing law and venue consistent with the Terms of Service.]
